Designed to be adaptable enough to keep any athlete warm and dry, Dryrobe® Adapt is a truly unique garment, featuring an upper and lower half that zip together to protect you from the elements.

A detachable lower half allows the Dryrobe® Adapt to be worn as a ‘sleeping bag’ in colder climates, whilst the upper half can be used as a separate jacket on warmer days. The outer and inner linings are made with the same high-performance, 100% recycled fabrics, as the Dryrobe® Advance.

The dryrobe® Adapt has been designed and tested to stand the wear and tear of an active lifestyle. Made with the same high-performance materials as the dryrobe® Advance, it's built to withstand whatever the elements throw at you.

  • Full-length 2-way reversible YKK® zip fastens both parts together

Upper part:

  • Drawcord adjustable, fleece-lined hood
  • Polar fleece chin guard
  • Zip guard
  • Tailored sleeves, with hook and loop fasteners at the wrist
  • Deep, fleece-lined external zip pockets at hips
  • Internal waterproof zip entry pocket - ideal for phone/wallet
  • Drop hem at the back to reduce draft coming in
  • The upper part joins to the lower part with open-ended (O/E) YKK® zips at each side
  • Fleece panel on the hem ensures the zip is not uncomfortable against the skin
  • Bright red drawcords for ease of use for the visually impaired

Lower part:

  • Tapers towards the feet so that it does not obstruct the wheels of a wheelchair
  • The length can be adjusted using the side adjusters
  • The base can be adjusted as desired using the elasticated draw cord.

Materials & Technology

Built with high-performance, recycled fabrics, the Dryrobe® Adapt has been designed to warm you up quickly after getting out of cold water.

Unique fleece lining

The super-warm, synthetic lambswool lining is made with 100% recycled polyester (rPET), approved by the Global Recycle Standard (GRS) and certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100. This high-performance fleece is made from recycled post-consumer plastic.

Fast-drying back2skin™ technology

The unique composition of the fleece enables it to perfectly balance insulation with the ability to wick water away from the skin. In tests, the back2skin™ dry time of the Dryrobe® Advance is significantly faster than our leading competitors. Meaning you can get in and out of the water multiple times a day without it ever feeling damp.

Waterproof up to 25,000mm

The durable waterproof and windproof outer is made with 100% recycled nylon, approved by Global Recycle Standard (GRS). This breathable, shell fabric is made with pre-consumer recycled nylon that would otherwise be destined for landfill.

The seams are heat-sealed to ensure you’re protected against whatever the weather throws at you.

PFC-free waterproofing

The Dryrobe® Advance is finished with PFC-free BIONIC-FINISH ECO Durable Water-Repellent (DWR). This technology repels water, causing it to bead on the surface, meaning it rolls off rather than soaking into the fabric.

This plant-based solution doesn't contain any harmful compounds, delivering high-performance weather resistance and reduces the amount of toxic and harmful chemicals leached into the environment.

Breathable to 8000 g/m2/d

Airflow is essential to the drying process. The Dryrobe® Advance allows sweat and moisture to be transported away from the body and out from the garment rapidly without compromising its warmth and waterproof qualities.

Size Exchanges: Not sure about the fit? If you need a different size, we offer an exchange by size for the same colour to ensure you have the space you need to change comfortably.

There is free UK and Canada delivery and free trackable returns on all items.

We offer free EU delivery on orders over €50. Tracked delivery under €50 costs €7 (excludes Greece). There are free returns for the Republic of Ireland, Germany, Austria and France.

Can I use the Dryrobe® Adapt as a changing robe?

The Dryrobe® Adapt has been designed to be worn as a long coat and doesn't have the same change space as a changing robe.
Do I pay for shipping?

We offer free shipping if you are in the UK and Canada.
We offer free EU delivery on orders over €50. For Sweden there is free delivery for orders over kr565.

Do you offer exchanges?

We can offer exchanges for the same colour product in a different size for orders from the UK & Isle of Man. To exchange an item, please head to our Returns page.

It is your choice whether you reorder straight away or wait until you have received your refund before placing the new order.

"I’ve been using my Dry Robe for a few months now, and I can’t imagine life without it. I use it weekly for open water swimming, and now, during the season, for warmth between water skiing sessions. The long fit and ease of movement around the arms and pelvis work really well. The feature that allows separating the top and bottom and protects the wheelchair cushion from water damage is fantastic—no more wet bottoms or backs after water sports. Tip: Measure yourself carefully and remeasure! You’ll love it. I only wish it came in different colours."

A great prototype- with more research it will be perfect.

"I bought this for my son who is a full-time wheelchair user. Things I love- the overall idea, the way the top and bottom zip together, the warmth. Things that would make it even better- different sizes and colours, a zip rather than draw string on the bottom, or for the draw string to go tighter to stop cold air entering. an option of strap adaptation so that the straps can go under the coat and not on top- due to the bulkiness this then leaves too much room for the person inside reducing the support from the lap belt and 4-point chest harness, small holes in the seams on the shoulders and sides would allow for the straps to go inside. double zips on all sections would give more options for access to people with feeding tubes, stomas etc. Things I don't like- the grey inside, it looks like it's old and been through a washing machine and discoloured the white inside. Overall, it is a great idea, quality is good as expected of a Dryrobe but improvements could be made to make it more versatile and suitable for a larger range of wheelchair users."

Lovely, really warm and dry.

"I’d been searching for a while for something that would keep me both warm and dry whilst I was out walking my dog. I’d tried another adapted range but it wasn’t suitable for me. When I found this adapted range I was so pleased and excited to try it out. It really was what I’d been looking for, -warm but able to easily open if i should get warm -really dry and I didn’t get a puddle in my lap if it was raining at all - easy enough to get on (I found the easiest way was to get into my bed and roll on one side tuck it under me then roll into it). - it looks nice, I had so many people complement me whilst wearing it. - easy enough to remove whilst in me wheelchair. I’m so pleased with it and whilst it was a little expensive it’s very well made and I hope to get many winters use out of it. The only downside side is that it states that it can only be hans washed, thank goodness my machine has a handwashing cycle because there is so much of it that I’d never be able to wash it."

"Excellent adaption of your product for disabled use. Warm , waterproof sizing accurate, on users who use slings and hoists waterproof fabric is slippy but we use ours without a sling. The ability to separate the coat section from the leg is also invaluable fabulous product just would like to see more colours now. Thank you for an inclusive product"

"I bought the adapt for my husband who is a wheelchair user. After much research, and positive reviews I thought I’d give it a go. He’s very hard to please but surprisingly, he’s had nothing but positive comments! He no longer is cold on walks, it keeps him warm and dry down to his ankles. The price is a bit steep but knowing that it won’t go in the sale, and the thought and care put behind the adapt is worth every penny! I bought it for Christmas but if I had known…I would have asked for it to be VAT free but we are new to the disability world. I would highly recommend the adapt."

Q&A

Hi are the sleeves fleece lined or with a more coat like lining? My husband has non functioning arm so struggles to get sleeves on and need a slippery sleeve to help get it on.

Please could you do these in plus sizes. My daughter uses a electric wheelchair and has used dryrobes for years in her wheelchair but the extra coverage of this would be perfect but needs a plus size. She loves being outdoors and gets off road in her wheelchair in the Yorkshire Dales even up Whernside one of the 3 peaks. We need one of these to keep her warm dry and not splattered in mud and water!

Please, please will you make these in other colours? As a wheelchair / mobility scooter user, I need something to keep me warm and dry but also to ensure I’m visible to others (it’s amazing how invisible you become in a mobility device!) I would also prefer a garment without a huge logo! Thank you.
